This DJ app was a collaboration with the design team at Kurppa Hosk. We worked in tight feedback loops with the UI Designer/Visual Designer (who was at the same time designing the re-brand), Engineers, client and other stakeholders to ensure the app worked well from both business and user point of view, using qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Research

Mapping the needs

Through in-depth research, we ensured the design would resonate with both emerging and professional DJs. Ongoing research across every design and development phase was essential to keeping the process—and the outcome—firmly user-centred.


Understanding the user
By triangulating the data, including interviews, surveys and heatmaps from their website, she created four personas.

Understanding their behaviour
By mapping their Customer Journey, and wireframing the most important activities in User flows, it was possible to distinguish the most important features for the app, such as “Create new playlist“.
